World Evangelism Header

The World Evangelism Council is charged with casting a vision to the congregation of reaching the world with the message of God's love and salvation found in Jesus Christ. We help educate and promote cross-cultural ministry, send cross-cultural staff around the world, and provide ongoing financial and prayer support for their ministry. As a council, we have seen God answer prayer in the lives of our cross-cultural staff and the peoples they serve. Our foreign and domestic staff touch lives in areas such as East Asia, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Eurasia, Europe, Africa, Central and North America.

Our purpose is to support, encourage and care for our Church sponsored foreign staff, to educate the congregation as to God's heart for reaching the world and to provide opportunities for the people of Desert Springs to discover their role in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) .

How to support and encourage our cross-cultural missionaries:

PRAY (Philippians 4:6)

Pray Intelligently: Know who our missionaries are. Learn about their current events and the culture they are reaching.

Pray informatively:  Stay informed by reading your missionaries prayer letters,  periodicals that cover world events, and researching via the Internet.

Pray in anticipation: Remember God answers prayer. Recall God’s answers from the past and re-pray the great prayers of scripture (i.e. Philippians 1:9-11Ephesians 1:15-23Colossians 1:3, 9-12; I Thess 1:2-8)

GIVE time and money

Cross-cultural missionaries are often responsible for raising money in order to support their families, and the mission God has called them to.  You can help by giving your time and money willingly (1 Chronicles 29:3-9), cheerfully (II Corinthians 9:7) and liberally (II Corinthians 9:6-15)

WRITE a letter

Cross-cultural missionaries are often separated from family and friends for long periods of time. A simple letter or note can be a source of strong encouragement. Consider write to a cross-cultural missionary about you and your family, what God is doing in your life and about what God is doing in the church family at Desert Springs. To obtain a list of missionaries you can write letters to, please contact the DSBC office at

When writing, please remember security
The mission field is a dangerous place. Often times, certain words or phrases seen in correspondence can unnecessarily put our missionaries in danger. Please follow the guidelines specified by your missionary. For more information, please contact
