I love Jesus, my family, his Word, his Church, motorcycles and spaghetti. I am the new Family Ministries Pastor here at DSBC. I mostly grew up in Phoenix where I managed to graduate from my second high school, Sunnyslope. I became a follower of Jesus as a Junior in high school and remain forever grateful for the changes he is making in my life.
Even though I was groomed to take over a family business, I took a year after high school to attend Arizona College of the Bible so that I could know what the Bible had to say about my life. That short detour led to a lifetime of serving Christ as a pastor to his people. As a family, we spent thirteen years pastoring U.S. military on Okinawa, Japan. We returned to Phoenix in 2004 to serve at the church where I became a Christian. Since my return to Phoenix I have earned an MDiv from Phoenix Seminary. We are thrilled that God has now led us to Desert Springs Bible Church in 2011.
I married Shelly, the love of my life, in 1987. We have four children. Rebecca is a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Caleb is an MP in the Arizona National Guard and a student at Arizona Christian University. Hannah and Sarah are both still in high school. The greatest joys in my life have revolved around loving, leading and teaching my family how to follow Jesus. Honestly, they often teach me. We also are licensed foster parents with the State of Arizona and have opened our home to those whom the Lord leads to us.
